It has plenty of magnificent mature trees which make for a lovely environment - just rather shady on places (our garden).Thecurateswifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00698368420407630258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-74482505925022013442011-06-08T04:23:56.784-07:002011-06-08T04:23:56.784-07:00We lived in an area, in the US, in which one could...We lived in an area, in the US, in which one couldn't cut trees. And so we had to learn all about shade plants. I quite like them now--hostas, hellebores, astilbe, heuchera, lily of the valley. Quieter and more refined than sun lovers.

What will happen if you prune the big trees? It's a bit cheeky to designate someone else's trees as a public amenityDreaming Beneath the Spireshttp://dreamingbeneaththespires.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-50671594077653237002011-06-05T00:36:58.438-07:002011-06-05T00:36:58.438-07:00Plogging = blogging!!!Plogging = blogging!!!Thecurateswifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00698368420407630258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-61778607159531974892011-06-04T12:37:48.404-07:002011-06-04T12:37:48.404-07:00Thanks Shilwin - my plogging problems are solved -...Thanks Shilwin - my plogging problems are solved - not quite by your solution but your suggestions led me to the problem.
Good to hear from you in the right place Minnie!
Serious bike riding was much appreciated in the last parish several more senior members of the parish got to have a ride up the road on the back of the bike. Here, I fear, it might be frowned upon. We will see.Thecurateswifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00698368420407630258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-39990653558358570722011-06-02T04:23:59.356-07:002011-06-02T04:23:59.356-07:00Such a treat to be able to comment at last!
How lo...Such a treat to be able to comment at last!
How lovely that you can both be together full time (well, OK, allowing for The Curate's many work-related absences). But it must be very daunting, the idea of meeting an entire new congregation ... bon courage!
Do hope all goes wonderfully well.Minniehttp://minniebeaniste.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-30731661039032870062011-05-31T08:33:15.445-07:002011-05-31T08:33:15.445-07:00Sending you lots of love as you both settle in. W thought we must be very lucky to be getting someone so well-loved and indeed it proved to be the case.

I think a serious bike-riding curate is a real gift to any parish :-)Perpetuahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01214396019726161983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4888205430545180139.post-64718354393786713362011-05-30T16:18:57.809-07:002011-05-30T16:18:57.809-07:00Hello again ... Sounded a lot like first day at a new school, or workplace.
I think a Curate on a Harley might just gender a little excitment among the younger male set! Had he rode a Honda 125 his 'ratings' may be lower. Enjoy this new placement ... the rain can't last forever.
Actually we had rain last night, and more showers during the day ... most welcome! I am waiting for the grass to begin to grow past the 'junior teenage beard' stage.Shirlwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02582037340209866437noreply@blogger.com
